Merge Healthcare Announces New Wins for Clinical Trials Solutions
Advanced functionality wins new awards for Merge's EDC solutions

MILWAUKEE, Oct 14, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- --Products will be on display at the upcoming SCDM conference

Merge Healthcare, a leading HIT solutions provider, today announced the addition of four new customers for its etrials myEDC(TM) solution. These wins reflect continued momentum and interest from the pharmaceutical and contract research organization community with this innovative solution.

"Customers in numerous industries have consistently rewarded technical innovations that provide easy to use solutions in which the customer maintains control -- online banking and stock trading in the finance industry, SaaS solutions in the CRM industry, and travel websites in the leisure industry. myEDC does the same for a segment of the clinical trial industry by putting control of the data collection software in the hands of clinical data managers," explains Jon DeVries, General Manager of Merge Healthcare's eClinical division. "This solution brings a new way of thinking about collecting data electronically by providing an economical, wizard-driven solution that enables users to get studies up and running in days without the need for a team of programmers, and without the cost and time associated with full service solutions."

In addition, Merge has released a new version of its proven etrials Enterprise EDC(TM) solution. This newest version contains a new rules engine and notification module that has been successfully deployed for a project providing full SAE reconciliation workflow. Merge will be showcasing this, along with its full suite of innovative eClinical solutions, at the 2010 Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM) Annual Meeting (booth 208), to be held October 17 - 20, 2010 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

"This conference presents a great opportunity for us to showcase our suite of eClinical solutions designed to streamline the data collection and management workflow for providers of clinical data services," adds DeVries. "With the advancement of our core etrials EDC solution, we now have multiple cost-effective EDC solutions that will enable a broader group of users to reap the benefits of collecting data electronically."

In addition to exhibiting at the conference, Christine Lys, M.S., Business Development Director at Merge Healthcare, will present a session titled "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich Data Integration: Lessons Learned from a Decade of Data Integration." This speaking session will be held on Tuesday, October 19,2010 at 1:30 pm.
