Germany's Intercell AG is touting new evidence that its approach to bacterial vaccines is working. Its drug development partner Merck has reported that a Phase I study of their Staphylococcus aureus vaccine has proved that the therapy is safe and well tolerated. Intercell CEO Gerd Zettlmeissl said the data "underline the high potential of our AIP technology for the identification of other bacterial vaccine product candidates in-house or in collaboration with leading vaccine companies."
