MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- 23andMe, Inc. announced today the appointment of Scott Andress as director of product design. Formerly with Yahoo and Apple, Andress will lead the design team responsible for creating unique and engaging customer experiences in the new realm of personal genetics pioneered by 23andMe.

In addition to leading design for product experiences at 23andMe, Andress will focus on collaborating with product managers and engineers to drive design excellence for current and future 23andMe products. He and his team will work to create compelling products for both web and mobile applications.

Andress has two decades of design experience. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Design, Mobile and Emerging Products at Yahoo. Prior to this role, he served in many positions at Yahoo, leading design across a number of products including search, homepage, and media. Before Yahoo, he gained design insights across a variety of product categories including ecommerce at Apple, and web solutions at Palm.
Andress earned a Bachelor of Arts in behavioral science with an emphasis in anthropology from La Sierra University and holds a Master of Public Health in health administration from Loma Linda University.
