bluebird bio Announces Proposed Public Offering of Common Stock

bluebird bio, Inc. (BLUE), a clinical-stage company committed to developing potentially transformative gene therapies for severe genetic and orphan diseases, today announced that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of $100 million of its common stock. bluebird bio also intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 15% of the shares of common stock offered in the public offering.

BofA Merrill Lynch, Cowen and Company and Citigroup are acting as joint book-running managers of the proposed offering. Wedbush PacGrow Life Sciences and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey are acting as co-managers. The offering is subject to market and other conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering.
