The BioJapan Organizing Committee and ICS Convention Design, Inc. are pleased to present BioJapan 2012- The 14 annual event- for three days from October 10 to 12 at Pacifico Yokohama, Japan. Yokohama is a port city in Kanagawa Prefecture just 30 minutes away from the center of Tokyo.
BioJapan has played an important role in facilitating interaction between Japanese and global companies/organizations and stimulating new business opportunities. The overall theme of BioJapan 2012 is New Era of Open Innovation in Asia. Japan is the second largest market in the world for pharmaceutical and medical products and a historical source of innovation. The Japanese and global biotechnology industry's top business development and licensing professionals, alliance management professionals, R&D personnel and biotech company executives will gather in Yokohama for BioJapan 2012.
BioJapan has launched a new online partnering system this year which will enable you to schedule appointments with participants before the event.This year's event will attract more than 15,000 professionals (25% increase from the previous year) from 2,000 companies from over 20 countries, and 1,000 professionals are expected to engage in one-to-one partnering meetings. Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, MSD and Novartis Pharma K.K. are official sponsors of BioJapan 2012. Many global pharmaceutical companies (including Astellas, Daiichi-Sankyo, sanofi-aventis and Takeda), medium & small sized pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, research Institutes and universities will be in attendance and ready to partner.
This year's event will kick off with keynote speeches given by Dr. Isao Teshirogi, President of Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA); Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach, President of Samaritan Health Initiatives, Inc. / Former Commissioner of the United States Food and Drug Administration; and Dr. Yoshimitsu Kobayashi, President & CEO of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation. BioJapan 2012 will also include over 40 seminars over the three-day period under the themes of Environment and Energy; Medicine and Pharmaceuticals; Healthcare; Food and the Agriculture and Fishery Industries; and The Foundation of Biotechnology-based Industry. Speakers at the seminars will include top officials from various pharmaceutical companies and researchers from the academic field.
There will be two evening networking events. One is a welcome reception at the Yokohama Grand Intercontinental Hotel on Wednesday, October 10 and the other is a networking party inside Yokohama International Passenger Terminal on Thursday, October 11. The terminal was designed by Mr. Alejandro Zaera-Polo and Ms. Farshid Moussavi, an architect team operating in the UK and offers an unforgettable view of the skyline of Yokohama. The events will offer a chance for the attendees to interact with each other.
