Biogen Idec has sold its underperforming psoriasis drug Amevive to Astellas Pharma for $60 million. Amevive earned about $49 million last year. The deal is a key part of Biogen's restructuring plan, announced last fall as it grappled with the abrupt freeze in developing Tysabri after the MS drug was withdrawn from the market early last year. An FDA committee recently recommended the return of Tysabri and a formal agency decision is pending.
