Amgen has filed suit against Roche for alleged infringement of six US patents. The patents in question are for recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) products, pharmaceutical compositions and processes for making EPO. Amgen used the patents to make Epogen, an amnesia drug. The biotech aims to permanently prevent Roche from developing any drug that uses the EPO patents.
