ACR Image Metrix Participates in European NGP Summit

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ACR Image Metrix, a global imaging contract research organization (CRO) with expertise in imaging trial design, techniques and data extraction, announces its attendance and participation at the Next Generation Pharmaceutical – Drug Discovery Summit, Europe, which took place in Vienna, Austria, from September 1-3, 2010.

Completing studies in over 30 countries around the globe and establishing its presence worldwide, ACR Image Metrix is one of the industry’s premier imaging CROs. General Manager Michael J. Morales and Mehdi Adineh, Ph.D., scientific director of the imaging core laboratory, attended the summit on behalf of ACR Image Metrix.

The summit was designed to bridge the growing technological gap between drug discovery and drug development. In addition to ACR Image Metrix, companies from across the globe were in attendance, including: AstraZeneca, Bayer Schering Pharma, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Novartis, Ortho Biotech, Pfizer and UCB Pharmaceuticals.

“Our overall performance in site training, evaluation and qualification to multiple centers across all continents, with the exception of Antarctica, has paved the way for expansion of our global capabilities,” Morales said. “The European summit we attended, in large part, will help us to move forward with the expansion of our services both nationally and internationally. Our ability to conduct novel imaging techniques in oncology and the central nervous system is in high demand as more pharmaceutical companies look to accelerate drug candidates from discovery phase to development.”
