SpePharm demands $46.4M from BioAlliance Pharma

Amsterdam-based SpePharm Holding has filed a €35 million claim against BioAlliance Pharma for the "brutal termination" of a licensing agreement for the commercialization of the antifungal drug Loramyc. In a release, SpePharm says that "BioAlliance had totally unrealistic commercial expectations for Loramyc in Europe and has requested from SpeBio excessive and wasteful promotional investments which would have denied any possible return on investment for the joint venture." The abrupt end to the joint venture damaged Loramyc's future in Europe, as well as SpePharm's reputation with hospital specialists and authorities throughout Europe, the company claims. Release
