Spectrum Pharmaceuticals says it will be in a position to garner up to $40 million more in milestone payments after its drug development partner GPC Biotech recently licensed the marketing rights of their cancer drug satraplatin to Pharmion for Europe and several other countries. Those payments are in addition to the $18 million in milestones outlined in an earlier deal between GPC and Spectrum. GPC says it expects to file an NDA for satraplatin by the end of this year, with an application to the EMEA in 2007.
