Sequoia gains $35M in third round

The Wellcome Trust has led a $35 million third round of venture capital for Sequoia Pharmaceuticals, which has been developing a therapy for drug-resistant HIV. MedImmune Ventures also jumped in as a new investor in the company. Much of the money is earmarked for product development.

ALSO: Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Pandemic & Biodefense Fund has added $6 million to Juvaris BioTherapeutics' first venture round. The money goes to pushing its lead vaccine products for influenza and pneumonia indications into clinical trials. Release
