Nuvelo gets 'fast track' for blood clots

The FDA has given "fast track" status to Nuvelo's experimental treatment for blood clots in the leg. Alfimeprase is currently in a late-stage trial for acute peripheral arterial occlusion, which afflicts more than 100,000 Americans each year.
