Novartis inks biosimulation pact with Entelos
The UK's Entelos has inked a research pact with Swiss drug giant Novartis. Entelos will use its PhysioLab software platform to simulate the physical reaction of patients to new drugs. Novartis, which is putting up R&D money for the venture, will use biosimulation to evaluate the potential of new drugs as well as better design pivotal studies. No financial details were divulged in their announcement.
"The pharmaceutical industry is realizing the benefits of testing targets and drugs in silico before conducting expensive clinical trials," said James Karis, president and CEO of Entelos, in a statement.
