Novacea raises $25M in third venture round
South San Francisco-based Novacea closed the second tranche of its third round of venture financing with total proceeds of $25 million. Much of the money is earmarked to launch its Phase 3 clinical trial of DN-101 in advanced prostate cancer. The trial (ASCENT-2) is set to begin enrolling patients during the first quarter of 2006. Apax Partners, Domain Associates, New EnterpriseAssociates, ProQuest Investments, Versant Ventures and Sofinnova Ventures were all involved in the latest round.
