New Mexico gov. calls for stem cell center
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson is proposing $10 million in state funding for embryonic stem cell research. The funds would include money for a new research center at UNM along with money to hire researchers and train students. Embryonic stem cell research has emerged as a wedge issue for the Democrats in some states as they battle for control of Congress.
