Most parents won't bother with swine flu shots

Tools

Vaccine developers have had no problems getting contracts for all of the new swine flu shots they can supply. The big question now is how many people will allow themselves to be vaccinated with it. In a new U.S. poll, more than half of all parents said they expected to get seasonal flu shots for their kids, but only 40 percent said they would arrange shots for the new flu. Even as a second wave of swine flu starts to hit, almost half of the naysayers aren't all that concerned by the prospect of seeing their child infected by the virus. Unlike seasonal flu, though, swine flu can hit kids harder than seniors. That message has apparently not sunk in yet. Report
