Germany's GPC Biotherapeutics, which has research facilities in Waltham, MA, has raised $43.2 million in a private placement of shares to two investment firms. GPC has been attracting attention with the recent announcement of a fully enrolled Phase III trial for satraplatin, a second-line chemotherapy being studied for prostate cancer. The FDA has granted fast track status to satraplatin.
