Genentech files for another new indication for Avastin

Genentech and Roche have filed for yet another indication for Avastin. The filing is for Avastin combined with chemotherapy in relapsed metastatic colorectal cancer. It is based on a late-stage trial that saw a 25 percent reduction in the risk of death and a 33 percent improvement in overall survival compared to patients receiving a standard chemotherapy regime alone. In the first three quarters of this year Avastin has racked up $911 million in sales.
