Gates endowment sheds $2B

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has lost a couple of billion dollars since the beginning of the year. That drop follows a 20 percent slide in the foundation's endowment for 2008. But even after the plunge, the foundation still reports assets of $27.5 billion, which is being used to fund a broad range of strategies to eliminate catastrophic diseases like malaria. Report
