Durect gains $8M on positive pain drug data
Durect, a drug delivery tech developer, says that it is gaining an $8 million milestone payment after a mid-stage clinical trial for the postoperative pain drug Posidur delivered promising data. Researchers said that the drug reduced pain and the demand for supplemental opioids. Developers will now talk to the FDA about designing a Phase III trial for the drug. The news helped buoy Durect's stock price.
