DeCODE alleges ex-employees stole trade secrets
Iceland's deCODE Genetics is suing five former employees for allegedly stealing research knowledge and trade secrets and using them at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. And the biotech company says the theft was done with the knowledge of the hospital staff, an allegation the hospital denies. Hakon Hakonarson, deCODE's former vice president of business development, is named in the suit along with four others recruited by the Center for Applied Genomics, which is part of Children's Hospital. The hospital says it will defend its employees in the suit.
