Crucell halts Aerugen development

Amsterdam-based Crucell has halted development of Aerugen, an experimental vaccine for the prevention of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. The decision is the based on the results from a Phase III trial that demonstrated the vaccine was not effective despite positive results from earlier studies. The company emphasized that this would not affect its revenue forecast for this year.
