Barr pushing new drug development

Barr Laboratories isn't content to sit around and wait for some final resolution of the Plan B controversy. With the FDA putting a decision on Plan B on hold indefinitely, the drug developer has four brand-name experimental therapies awaiting FDA action along with 30 generic pharmaceuticals. Barr says its goal is to become a leader in the field of women's health, taking on household names like Johnson & Johnson and Wyeth. In addition, eight states have agreed to allow the sale of Plan B without a prescription.
