U.K. research grants focus on non-animal preclinical alternatives

Five universities in England have nailed down new grants intended to promote preclinical alternatives to animal studies for biomedical research. PharmaTimes reports that the various projects will focus on Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease along with esophageal cancer, brain tumors and toxicology testing. Royal Holloway, Westminster, Dundee, Edinburgh and Portsmouth universities' projects won the funding through The Dr. Hadwen Trust for Humane Research. Story
