Apple's ResearchKit goes global as heart study expands into Hong Kong and U.K.

Stanford University School of Medicine has expanded its Apple ($AAPL) ResearchKit-based heart health study to Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. The move marks the first time a study run using the ResearchKit platform--which made a splash earlier this year when it facilitated rapid enrollment in a handful of trials--has started accepting participants from outside the U.S. Stanford's study, MyHeart Counts, has enrolled 41,000 people in the U.S., a figure researchers hope to see swell as it expands globally. The team is aiming to go live in other countries in the coming months. Release
