A revolution in genomics and molecular biology has spurred a burst of new development activity in the vaccines business. Analysts say that a slew of new products will propel 18 percent annual growth in the sector as the vaccine business swells from $13 billion to $30 billion in 2011. Merck [1], AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sanofi-Aventis are all pursuing ambitious new programs.
