Seattle-based Targeted Genetics [1]Â has decided to put its lead drug trial on hold after one of the patients in the study became seriously ill. Researchers have stopped dosing volunteers in the early-stage trial for an experimental therapy for inflammatory arthritis--known as tgAAC94--and patients in the study are being monitored. Analysts noted that it's too early to tell if this is a temporary or permanent setback for Targeted Genetics. Release [2]
