You can add Taiwan to the list of Asian countries making a concerted effort to develop its biotech industry. The Economic Daily News is reporting that the government will sink a billion dollars into a joint venture with private entities to lure in foreign biotech companies looking to compete globally. Taiwan's billion would buy it a 40 percent stake in the joint venture.
