New York Times scribe Andrew Pollack takes a careful look at the current trend of making new drugs out of combinations of old therapies. Despite reporting one trial failure last week [1], CombinatoRx is out in the lead on this one. Researchers at the company are systematically running through the possible combinations of 2,000 generic drugs. But Pozen [2], Orexigen [3] and other biotechs have combinatorial programs in place as well.
