Flexion garners $33M in Series A

Woburn, MA-based Flexion Therapeutics has raised an impressive $33 million in its first round. Versant Ventures led the round, which included 5AM Ventures and Sofinnova Partners. Mike Clayman and Neil Bodick, who founded Lilly's proof-of-concept drug unit, are heading the venture. And the company says it has deals in the works with three pharma companies. Flexion release [1]
