A new study demonstrates that Celgene's Thalomid can triple the time multiple myeloma patients can live without seeing the disease progress. Once notorious for causing birth defects, Thalomid--often referred to by its generic name thalidomide--has emerged as a powerful tool in the fight against blood cancer. The drug earned $390 million last year, mostly for its off-label use against myeloma.
