Abbie Celniker, Taligen Therapeutics CEO

Abbie Celniker was appointed CEO of Taligen Therapeutics in July of 2008, succeeding co-founder Woodruff Emlen, M.D., who remains president. Before joining Taligen, Celniker headed Novartis Biologics. The industry vet has also held positions at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Wyeth BioPharma and Genentech. The CEO was one of three highlighted by the Boston Business Journal as women who are breaking biotech's glass ceiling. CEOs Bonnie Fendrock (photo) of Hepregen and Katrine Bosley (photo) of Avila Therapeutics also gained recognition.
