France's SpineGuard wins Russian nod for wireless spine surgery tool

France's SpineGuard, a spine surgery device startup, won Russian regulatory approval to start marketing PediGuard, a hand-held, wireless tool designed to assist with pedicle screw placement during surgery. And the company, with offices in Paris and San Francisco, is aiming for a wide rollout. SpineGuard said it will partner with Moscow-based Multi-Systems Technology to sell the device via a network of 53 distributors throughout Russia. SpineGuard launched in 2009 and its co-founders, Pierre Jérôme and Stéphane Bette, are former executives at Medtronic Sofamor-Danek and SpineVision. Item
