Job Responsibilities may include:
Ensuring that mechanical parts, assemblies and components meet R&D specifications for quality, reliability, cost, performance, and product safety.
Work in partnership with R&D, New Product Introduction and Manufacturing teams utilizing design reviews to optimize design and applications of components and technological advancement.
You will have the opportunity to apply and provide technical leadership and consult for new technology advancement for specific use of different materials and application techniques to provide both internal and external cross functional teams and suppliers.

Define, design and implement permanent solutions to solve material composition issues, customization in parts and consistent reliability and product performance.
Meet operational results for Assurance of supply – specified components arrive to the respective manufacturer and / or supplier within lead times.
Perform root cause analysis specific to material composition, strength, performance and coating issues – for example, materials coated with chrome and / or gold. Knowledge of cleaning and screening for surface morphology, re-melt, pits, voids, etc…

Agilent LSCA Procurement and Engineering teams provide individuals with development both technically and professionally in terms of growth, opportunity and experience. Working in the Procurement organizations provides a dynamic environment to support specification translation from R&D and Manufacturing engineering in to New and improved products for our customers in the Life Science and Chemical Analysis. Procurement engineering work for root cause analysis and redesign directly impacts Cost of Sales and therefore improves business margins for our share holders and employees. You will work with a dynamic team of experts from all walks of life and experience. Supply chain improvements, design improvements and contribution can immediately be seen as you support specific challenges in the area of material science for the company.

Qualifications:

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science;
M.S. Preferred and have typically 3 – 5 years of experience specifically in Materials Science.

Expertise in Materials Analysis at the chemical and raw material level, understanding of strength of materials, experience in die cast, molding, coating, doping and sputtering technology and technique.

Specific technical expertise in materials science and applicable analytical skills supporting finite material analysis.

Six Sigma Green Belt accomplishments; Lean Manufacturing applications; experience interfacing and communicating to suppliers; experience working cross cultures and geographies.

Demonstrated accomplishments working in a multi discipline and diverse team environment. Experience working with remote teams and technology.
Skilled in conflict resolution, Team interaction, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence change and lead others through change
Experience in project planning executing project activities
Experience assessing risk and designing appropriate plans to mitigate risk
Experience managing multiple assignments while responding to daily demands of the business.
Experience prioritizing tasks effectively to meet both business and personal demands.

Travel = 25% of the time
