Position Description
Join our growing team! AppTec offers comprehensive testing, contract research and development and cGMP manufacturing services for biopharmaceuticals, cellular therapeutics and tissue-based products from a unique single-source platform. Our Philadelphia site is located in a state-of-the-art facility at the Philadelphia Navy Yard Business Center.
As a Facilities Technician supporting our Manufacturing Department, you will be responsible for corrective and preventative maintenance, equipment changeovers and troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing and laboratory equipment according to and in compliance with regulatory guidelines. You will work with current and future equipment and systems to ensure that all equipment is properly operating and maintained including but not limited to: bioreactors, process skids, autoclaves, glass washers, refrigerators, freezers, incubators, bio-safety cabinets, chemical fume hoods, drives, bearings, seals, gear boxes, pumps, valves, pressure regulating devices, purified water systems, chilled water system, building automation system, steam systems, safety valves, HVAC systems, compressed air systems, and gas systems. You will follow SOPs and keep records of maintenance according to guidelines and SOPs.
Qualified candidate will have a HS diploma plus 3 year or more relevant trade school or hands on experience or equivalent training and/or extensive experience/knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. Must be proficient in one or more of the trades, i.e. mechanical, electrical, HVAC/R, plumbing, hot work (welding, brazing, soldering), rigging, powerhouse – steam generation and chiller utilization. Must have knowledge of cGMPs and GLPs, good mechanical skills, and possess computer skills in Building Automation System, MS Office applications and strong verbal and written communication skills.
