Position Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Start-up medical device company seeks experienced C-level executive to commercialize a breakthrough ultrasound technology.
LOCATION: Greater Philadelphia Area
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Guide, direct, and drive medical device development and commercialization.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets. Direct the efficient use of resources to effectively complete projects.
• Recruit and supervise technical staff for assigned projects. Conduct regular, timely and effective performance reviews for assigned personnel.
• Oversee project-related work activities of engineers and technicians, providing technical leadership and guidance on conformance to established design control procedures and GMPs.
• Interface with marketing, regulatory, and quality assurance to assist teams as necessary.
• Assist in developing business strategies that result in mapping/planning of present and future product development efforts. Develop and maintain pertinent project lists, including periodic project ranking.
• Encourages problem-solving processes leading to leveragability of solutions across businesses.
• Enable sharing of initiatives/ideas and accomplishments across the business.
• Participate in succession planning and development/implementation of retention strategies.
• Coach, develop and mentor employees. Allocates and/or/re-allocates internal and external resources as needed to ensure business objectives are met.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• B.S. Degree in Engineering or related Sciences (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree is a plus.
• FDA protocol and process exp a must. Knowledge of medical device processing required.
• Class II medical device (ultrasound) exp strongly preferred.
• 5+ years experience in product research/development/engineering within the medical device industry is preferred.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience is recommended, with the majority being within the medical device industry.
