Job Title : Biologist – II (Associate)
Location : Rahway, NJ
Rate Range : Open
Description:
Independently perform basic Clinical Pathology laboratory procedures. Perform quality control review of study data. Perform basic clinical pathology procedures independently (hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, parasitology). Review laboratory documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and study specific requirements. Maintain accurate records. Manage technical challenges and/or offer solutions to technical challenges. Other tasks may included file maintenance, instrument and equipment maintenance, quality control checks, and related laboratory tasks. May cross-train in other areas of pathology including bioanalytics and flow cytometry.
Requirement:
BA/BS, Biological Science/Medical Technology – Required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a biological science/Medical Technology preferred. Experience: 3-4 years of pathology laboratory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Placement at this level requires successful completion/competency of the required tasks of the position preceding this level and continued ability to perform those tasks are required. Certification/Licensure: MT (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP) preferred.
