Position Description
Come join our growing Molecular Team! This exciting new opportunity will be responsible for directing the activities related to Molecular product development. Manage all external communications with our new joint development partner, BioHelix Corporation. The ideal candidate will assess new technology and train manufacturing personnel in new procedures. May also provide specialized scientific support or services to the organization (R & D, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.), may supervise Project Managers for product development, product line extensions, or activities related to strategic business development.
• Ensure that new processes and methods are robust, scalable, well characterized, economical and validated in compliance with QSRs, ISO and other regulatory and license requirements.
• Interacts with external partners to develop products and systems that meet design plans.
• Works with Manufacturing groups to ensure effective transfer and implementation of new processes, and products.
• Ensures detailed documentation of the technology to be transferred, and provides recommendations to the organization as to the products preparedness for launch.
• Trains manufacturing employees in new and transferred procedures
• Develop and administer budgets, schedules and performance requirements that capture estimated costs and resources required.
Minimum B.S./B.A. required. Recommended 5+ years experience in molecular science and 3+ years management experience (project management of a scientific group, or a combination of project management & scientific experience). Requires sufficient combination of scientific experience and education to obtain a level of technical expertise to be able to coach and direct the work of other scientists.
• Excellent project management skills; ability to work with outside vendors and contractors in another state.
• Knowledge of Isothermal Amplification experience preferred.
• Excellent prioritization, organization and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to attract, retain and motivate a highly skilled technical group.
• Experience in QSR (Quality System Regulations).
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster strong interpersonal relationships between groups.
• Knowledge of the budgeting process, planning, and building realistic timelines.
• Strong knowledge of molecular product development.
