Senior Research Associate, Pharmacology - Proven Inc., Scientific Staffing

Position Description

Summary:

Develop protocols and execute mechanism of action studies using novel therapeutic antibodies including comparison studies with standards. The senior research associate will assist in the development and execution of in vivo and in vitro models and be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team.


Responsibilities:

-Designs and executes protocols for xenograph rodent models of human cancers or models of inflammation.

-Performs efficacy and mechanism of action studies of therapeutic antibodies.

-Carries out cell culture protocols to support xenograph model development.

-Performs studies profiling antibodies at both the in vivo and in vitro level using functional endpoints

-Writes protocols and executes in vivo and in vitro techniques including FACS, ELISAs and imaging techniques for projects.

-Maintains a current understanding of the literature and methodology related to specific drug discovery projects.

-Keeps organized and accurate records to support projects.

-Analyzes, interprets and presents experimental studies to departmental team and staff.

-Provides support to new areas as assigned.


Qualifications:

-M.S. in Pharmacology, Immunology/Physiology or related discipline with 4+ years of relevant industry experience or B.S. with 6+ years of relevant industry experience

-Fluent in the development of xenograph models and expertise in the development of other animal models, e.g. inflammation and cardiovascular disease

-Proven record of success in research projects

-Knowledge and experience with therapeutic antibodies preferred

-Demonstrated attention to detail and proficient reasoning skills in experimental design and interpretation

-Knowledgeable in some aspects of drug discovery from target discovery through early clinical development

-Skilled in statistical analysis, graphing programs and PowerPoint presentations

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-Willingness to work in the dynamic and changing environment of a start-up company
