The Computational Biology Group Leader will lead a team of Computational Scientists. This position will play a key role in leading the development of novel algorithms, data analyses methods and tools for high throughput genomic data. The successful candidate will form strong working relationships across the Genomics Laboratory, the Biomarker Center of Excellence as well as external partners.
Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Genetics / Bioinformatics / Computational Biology or related discipline
• 5 years of post graduation experience
• 2 years of management experience
• Industry experience at Biotech / Pharmaceutical / Drug Discovery
• Strong publication record in the field of Genetics, Bioinformatics and Statistics
• Laboratory background in Genomics with application to Oncology / Diabetes / Cardiovascular / Inflammation or Immunology
• Demonstrated experience with next generation sequencing methods and other high throughput genomic technologies
• Experience in handling large data sets such as microarrays, sequencing, proteomics and imaging data
• Strong Statistics: SAS / R/S-Plus / Matlab / Partek
• OS skills: Unix/Linux, Windows
• Programming skills: Java/C++/C# .Net. Perl, Shell
• Knowledge of databases: SQL/mySQL / Oracle.
