Position Description
Covance is expanding its biotechnology services business to the United States. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing scientific service offering with one of the world’s premier drug development companies. The biotechnology business unit will provide a comprehensive portfolio of contract GLP and GMP laboratory services supporting the development and manufacture of biotechnology, biopharmaceutical and vaccine products.
We are currently seeking a Sr. Staff Scientist specializing in Immunochemistry for our Biotechnology lab in Greenfield IN. As a Scientist you will:
• Provide scientific leadership to the Immunochemistry group
• Serve as a technical expert for client interface
• Provide leadership in troubleshooting and delivering challenging immunoassay services.
• Provide a “hands on” expertise and capacity in support of the group’s responsibilities
• Lead technical transfer efforts in support of client studies
• Define and support the startup activities of the Immunochemistry laboratory
Qualifications include:
• BS degree and 5-15 years experience in protein chemistry.
• Expert understanding of ELISA based immunochemical analysis.
• Experience with non-kit based ELISA and binding assays required.
• Relevant software, robotic experience and Biacore experience is a plus.
• Preference for experience in a high throughput QC release laboratory or contract laboratory performing release testing.
• GMP compliance experience preferred.
• Strong written communication, training and troubleshooting skills required.
