Description:

Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is an innovative drug discovery company focused on discovering and developing novel small molecules as cancer therapeutics. Founded in 2001, the company currently has three drug candidates in clinical trials and is aggressively pursuing a robust pipeline of early discovery projects. Infinity is a small but fully integrated drug discovery company with capabilities ranging from early discovery to clinical sciences. Through a series of strategic alliances, Infinity is in a position to independently fund the development and commercialization of its drug candidates.


Infinity is looking for an experienced scientist with extensive molecular pathology expertise to join the Biology team. This individual will work closely with cross-functional project teams to design, integrate and analyze a wide range of clinical and discovery projects in order to discover and develop novel pharmacodynamic (PD) and predictive biomarkers.


The role will require partnership with scientists and clinicians throughout the company and outside collaborators to develop our capability to evaluate and leverage emerging technologies that show potential to directly impact clinical trial strategy and design. Responsibilities:

· Lead biomarker projects in support of a growing molecular pathology effort, including the development of immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, proteomics and genetics assays.

· Quantitate image data analysis

· Evaluate and implement non-invasive technologies, including circulating tumor cells / DNA and serum/plasma proteomics.

· Liaison with CROs and consultant pathologists.



Requirements:

Candidates must have PhD degree with two or more years of relevant experience. A demonstrated record of cutting edge research in translational oncology and/or industry experience is highly desirable.



· Extensive experience with microscopy and the development of immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization and FISH assays.

· Strong background in cellular and molecular biology.

· Proficiency in image analysis and digitizing technologies

· Broadly knowledgeable in translational oncology research.

· Highly motivated to contribute to exciting novel directions in personalized medicine

· Experience in developmental pathways is a plus.

· Must have excellent communication and writing skills and the ability to work in a matrix environment and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
