Scientific Director/Vaccines - Twin Image Recruiting

Position Description

Responsible for setting and managing the overall scientific and technical direction for development of all existing or anticipated products under development. In addition, ultimately responsible for the professional development of the scientific staff.

Provides staff direction with an understanding and following of established company policies and procedures.

Oversees business/scientific activities to ensure a high standard of professional excellence is maintained among staff members.

Establishes and implements short and long term strategies to deliver services to customers within reasonable schedules and budgets.

Establishes and communicates goals and objectives, defines methodologies, tasks, and activities and clearly describes roles and responsibilities for performing to personnel.

Communicates broadly to help ensure overall coordination for cross-functional teams.

Candidate will have the ability to manage subordinate personnel, including conflict resolution and resource allocation.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• Doctorate in a life sciences discipline.
• Minimum of ten years independent supervisory experience in advanced development of vaccines. Advanced experience in biomanufacturing is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing complex scientific enterprises.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and developing senior level scientific staff and ability to manage high-energy creative teams.
• Experience in/familiarity with US government contracting environment is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience working with the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
