Position Description
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop scalable virus and protein purification processes with improved product yield for manufacturing systems.
• Exercise independent judgment in development of new methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.
• Purify and characterize virus and protein products, including preparation and operation of equipment.
• Quantify virus titers and host cell proteins in intermediates and final products.
• Characterize protein intermediates for purity and stability.
• Maintain notebooks, records, and logbooks.
• Communicate results within process development group and other groups throughout the company as directed.
• Write process technical specifications and technical reports in support of manufacturing and regulatory submissions.
• Perform technology transfer to internal and external manufacturing groups.
• Order supplies and maintain equipment used in processes.
• Maintain lab in safe and orderly manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The right individual needs a BS degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 5 to 8 years’ experience in a GXP environment or an MS with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience. The position may determine methods on new assignments and may provide guidance or supervise less experienced personnel. Strong written and oral communication skills are a plus.
