Position Description

Toxikon Corporation is seeking experienced histology manager with certification. BS Degree in Life science from accredited college classes with histology experience. Good interpersonal skills, proficiency with computers, record keeping, routine laboratory organization and organizational and time management skills. Motivated worker and willingness to continue expanding animal-specific histologic techniques. This position has the responsibility for all functions involving the operations of the Histology department, working closely with In Vivo Toxicology Technicians, Study Directors, and Regulatory Affairs in coordinating routine histology, special histology, scheduling, and laboratory maintenance. Assist Study Directors in Histology projects, as requested. Responsible for tissue trimming and processing. Responsibility for the histological preparation of slides in the following manner, including embedding tissue for proper orientation, sectioning tissues for histopathological assessment, performing routine H&E staining and special stains. Responsible for maintaining all documentation as required in relative SOP’s, maintaining laboratory accreditations, handling inspections, and managing all personnel.
