Role Summary

Leads cross-functional team for manufacturing projects. You will implement technical transfers of products and projects into the Riverside site. Provide vision for the product team with clear objectives. Manage specific product lines for product cost, quality and regulatory compliance while minimizing exceptions, ensuring on time delivery, and continuous improvement. You will knowledgeably represent Lonza to their customers. Occasional travel off-site including international travel.
Primary Role Responsibilities

Primary technical Customer contact for Product lines. Maintain positive customer relationships. Initiate, facilitate and control flow of information between Customers and the product team to present Lonza in the best possible light to foster strong customer partnerships and nurture future growth of the business.

Ensures close collaboration with Key Account Manager and intensive technical ties with customer.

Through creative collaboration with departments, product teams and other Lonza sites, plans and provides necessary resources for manufacturing Riverside products. Clearly communicates customer requirements to Product Teams and departments.

Production of product development plans including: Short and long term costing; analysis of cost structure and setting up an improvement action plan based on cost benefit analysis initiation of process optimization work and its implementation in collaboration with product teams.

Coaches and challenges product team in collaboration with the line functions to identify and complete process improvement projects in-line with team objectives and Company goals based on understanding the product and business costs and risks associated with the changes.

Responsible for Tech Transfer and the introduction of new products and product improvements into production.

Quality Responsibility

Maintenance of ISO 9001:2000 certifications for LES by ensuring that all team members comply with processes, procedures and instructions for all activities in which the team participates. Responsible for GMPs and complies with ICH Q7A regulations.

Safety Responsibility

Is knowledgeable and complies with all pertinent safety policies, rules and regulations.
Ensure that all team members comply with safety rules and regulations.

Leadership Responsibility

Provides appropriate coaching and performance feedback to product team members and assures that product team members are being developed.

Qualifications

You must have a PhD with 3+ years or a MS with 5+—Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or the Life Sciences. Chemical/managerial experience required. Process chemistry experience incorporating strong familiarization with the activities and procedures of plant scale production necessary. A good working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Capable of working autonomously. Ability to handle multiple, concurrent projects
