We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our outstanding BioCel Software Development Team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with the ability to work comfortably on both individual- and team-oriented projects and will enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, specify, develop, and test software products that control the multi-axis robots and other laboratory instruments used in Velocity 11’s high-throughput sample processing systems
- Develop and test custom Java scripts that enable integration with customer data systems and instrumentation
- Provide internal and external customer software support when necessary
- Meet revenue-driven schedule commitments.
Requires:
- BS Software Engineering or equivalent experience
- 4+ yrs Software development in C++ a Windows environment with specific interest in programming for robotics and automation
- 2+ yrs interfacing with laboratory instruments and robots via RS-232, Ethernet or other physical interfaces.
- 2+ yrs developing COM components using MFC and/or ATL
- Systems integration experience a plus
- Experience with JavaScript and STL highly desired
- Ability to provide clear and concise communication of product concepts and engineering requirements/documentation
- Ability to adhere to a quality control system that requires documentation
- Ability to communicate with both peers and management and to follow both written and verbal direction; to ask questions and find answers when appropriate
- Excellent time management skills and track record of success in execution to plan
- Available for up to 10% business travel to customer sites.
