Position Description
RXi Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: RXII) is a biopharmaceutical company pursuing the development and commercialization of proprietary therapeutics based on RNA interference (RNAi) for the treatment of serious human diseases. RXi was founded in January of 2007 by leaders in the RNAi field including Dr. Craig Mello, recipient of the 2006 Nobel Prize for Medicine for his co-discovery of RNAi.
RXi is looking for a talented, hardworking Research Associate to be part of an interdisciplinary project team working on development of RNAi delivery technologies. The successful candidate will work with a range of techniques including tissue culture, modified phosphoramidites and oligonucleotide synthesis, and QC, as well as developing and running various analytical methods. We are seeking a team player with excellent communications skills and the ability to work independently to help with the development of RNAi therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and run assays for RNAi compound detection and quantification
• Develop and run tissue culture and in vivo assays to evaluate RNAi compound efficacy
• Develop screen and QC methodologies for a variety of formulations
Qualifications:
• B.A. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar field
• 1-5 years of chemistry lab experience
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Previous experience working with siRNA or oligonucleotides is desired
