Position Description
RXi Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: RXII) is a biopharmaceutical company pursuing the development and commercialization of proprietary therapeutics based on RNA interference (RNAi) for the treatment of serious human diseases. RXi was founded in January of 2007 by leaders in the RNAi field including Dr. Craig Mello, recipient of the 2006 Nobel Prize for Medicine for his co-discovery of RNAi.
RXi is looking for a talented, hardworking research associate to be a part of a nucleotide/oligonucleotide chemistry group. As part of the team, this person will perform modified phosphoramidites and oligonucleotide synthesis, and QC, as well as develop and run analytical methods. We are seeking a team player with excellent communications skills and the ability to work independently on the development of RNAi therapeutics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare reagents, develop assays, HPLC, mass spectrometry
• Assist with synthesis of phosphoramidites, supports, and conjugates
• Aid in oligonucleotide synthesis and QC
Qualifications:
• BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry or similar field
• 1-5 years of chemistry lab experience
• Experience with nucleotide chemistry and/or oligonucleotide synthesis is a plus
