Position Description

We are seeking a proven technology leader with deep experience in genetic engineering, a team-builder who can craft the strategic direction of the technology operations at our client’s company.

The hiring company is a cellulosic ethanol startup with a proprietary consolidated bioprocess technology. It is well funded by top-tier venture syndicates. The CTO is a new position and represents a significant opportunity in this exciting, rapidly growing company.

The successful candidate is a PhD with deep experience in genetic engineering and microbiology. S/He has experience setting the strategic vision of an R&D group in an emerging field, has built technical teams, managed IP strategy, managed multple (domestic and international) collaborative development projects, and understands the biofuels industry at the commercial and policy levels. Strong scientific gravitas and excellent presentation skills are required.
